The La Paz exhibition
In August-September 2010 about 30 works were shown in a solo exhibition, first in the gallery of the Ministry of Culture, and next in the Municipal Cultural Centre. Alberto Medina came up with the idea and was very helpful in selecting the works and in preparing the exhibition.
The inauguration was well visited with kind words of various speakers. And I was surprised and very honoured that various nationally well known artists had taken the trouble to come to the inauguration ceremony. Six works got sold, which was beyond my modest expectations.
The two nuns, seen in some of the photos, are leading 'San Ramon', the home for the elderly in
Achumani, in the South of La Paz. The proceeds of the sale went to them.
The interior of the gallery had a very nice
atmosphere. Just a few weeks the gallery got renovated whereby all the
alcoves were hidden behind wooden boards. What a pity!
