The mask may be a metaphor in various ways; for our concept of men, or our concept of the world. The mask may correspond with your identity, chosen and constructed, your social role. You are looking to the other person through small peeping holes. You will perceive how the other reacts to your mask, which will the basis of your self-image. The mask is also your outfit, the way you dress, how you present yourself to the world. Behind the mask we hide our uncertainty, our longings.
Is there a ‘true face’ behind that mask? Or… another mask? Who will tell?
